ferromanganese

Ferro Manganese full, medium and low carbon
Ferromanganese is obtained from the combination of manganese oxide and iron oxide at a high temperature and in a molten state with the presence of carbon in the form of coal or coke. This process is done in electric arc furnaces. Ferromanganese is generally used to deal with the bad effects of sulfur. This ferroalloy also acts as an oxygen remover and is combined with sulfur, which leads to the improvement of the product’s characteristics. Ferromanganese also adds metallurgical features to the product, including increased strength and hardness. This product is generally used in the production of steel and to some extent in the production of metal alloys. Based on the percentage of carbon, this ferroalloy is divided into three groups: low carbon, medium carbon and high carbon. High-carbon ferromanganese is used for general purposes and for the production of products with insensitivity to carbon increase, and medium-carbon and low-carbon ferromanganese are used in alloy steels used in sensitive sources and steels that will be subjected to the welding process. h5>
