The price of thermal coal in Asia this week climbed to a new record high as China and India moved to stockpile to meet demand for power generation.
The price of thermal coal traded on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange rose more than 4 percent on Tuesday to a record high of 979 yuan ($151.63) per ton.
